Impala Canada’s Lac des Iles Mine, located northwest of Thunder Bay, is a palladium operation with an underground mine and surface operations that employs more than 800 people. Currently, we are ramping up production to become one of Canada’s largest, lowest-cost and safest underground mines, producing a metal that contributes to a cleaner, greener and healthier global environment.

In order to meet increasing production needs and continue to be competitive, we rely heavily on our vendors and suppliers, most of which are Canadian-based. In 2020 alone, we purchased services and products from 300 Northwestern Ontario businesses and local Indigenous joint ventures businesses.
